Learning Intentions

To understand the four forces which effect flight: lift, drag, weight and thrust, able to describe how an aircraft is able to fly as a result of the balance between these four forces. Resulting in the ability to experiment and evaluate aircraft designs in terms of lift to drag ratios.

 

Success Criteria

Can re-design a paper aircraft design by analysing the effects of the four forces when they are in equilibrium and when they are in dis-equilibrium.

Can evaluate the success of their aircraft design in order to improve it’s flight time.
